Scope and Contents
This collection contains folios (predominantly Qur'anic) from various Middle-Eastern and Asian dynasties spanning a 1000 year period from 900 to 1900 ce. These folios were purchased from private sellers for use in research and teaching at Macalester College.

Biographical / Historical
Qur'an folio from 17th century Ottoman Turkey. Naskh script is written in black Ink with red markings on laid Oriental paper. Ayats (verses) are divided by golden dots. Each fifth ayat is separated by a golden rosette placed on the margins. Framed text.
