From the Collection:

This collection contains Medieval folios spanning an approximately 500 year period from 1100 to 1600 ce. These folios were purchased from private sellers for use in research and instruction at Macalester College.

Historical Note

From the Bellum Catilinae by Sallust (305 BCE) which chronicles the attempted overthrow of the government by the aristocrat Catiline in 63 BC in what has been called the Catilinarian conspiracy. The pages are not sequential (missing one bifolio inbetween). Contains the 1st recto and verses 47.1 through 48.5, 2nd recto and verses 51.8 through 51.20. Written in humanistic script.
