MCCA-005. Visual and Performing Arts

The 1960s Counterculture collection of James Holly which spans from 1964-1968 consists of music and art posters, flyers and prints, magazines, articles, books, newspapers, and ephemera connected to and concerning the 1960s counterculture and hippy movements as well as the San Francisco music scene.

This collection consists of original and facsimile art produced by Don Celender from the late 1960s through the early 2000s, ephemera, professional materials, correspondence, and imagery detailing his prolific artistic endeavors as well as his time at Macalester College as a professor of art.

The Chanter collections contains a complete print run of the publication from its inception in 1957 to the present day.

The Macalester College events, concerts, and exhibitions collection consists of materials (primarily posters and flyers) from various events held at Macalester College but for which exact provenance has been lost or is unknown.

This collections consists of programs, fliers, and ephemera from gallery shows and events at the Law Warschaw Gallery and its predecessor, the Janet Wallace gallery.

The Ian Morton papers contains personal and professional correspondence, newspaper articles detailing his works at Macalester with a focus on electronic compositions, various musical scores (many adaptations of Robert Nathan's works), as well as personal affects and ephemera.
