Historical Note
The Academic Programs and Advising Office works closely with faculty and staff to carry out the academic mission of the college. The office supports faculty advisors, coordinates Macalester’s First-Year Course Program, manages the Academic Standing process, works with students in academic difficulty, facilitates Macalester’s Honors Program, coordinates national scholarship nominations, and oversees funds for student academic travel and outside speakers.
